English for everybody: the English Club
Reading, vocabulary, debates and drama: in the voluntary English Club at I.P.K., pupils improve their English.
The I.P.K. English Club meets twice a week after lessons. Taking part is voluntary: the members want to improve their English, working with the school’s English teacher and the volunteers from our association. In the club they read texts, practise vocabulary, hold debates and put on plays.
The big performance
At the end of the academic year, the club once again gave its popular performance for the whole school, with debates, sketches, dancing and music. The event was held together with the English Club of ESI (the secondary school in Shyembe) and was a great success.
A second club
In addition, another English Club was started at the local state secondary school, the 9 Years Basic Education school. It has 30 active members and is run by a member of our association’s staff.
