Power to the children: our kindergarten
Over 100 children in three age groups, well-trained teachers and a parents' council: the kindergarten has a very good reputation.
Three kindergarten teachers and three assistants now work at the kindergarten, and it has been possible to set up an additional group. Since February 2020 there have been morning and afternoon groups. This means the children get more intensive care – although for our association it also means double the salary costs.
Good quality, good reputation
The teachers have attended several training courses at the Ecole Etoile kindergarten in Rubengera and at other kindergartens in Rwanda. This has improved the quality considerably, and the kindergarten has a very good reputation in the region.
The parents are involved too: a meeting with parents, staff, pastors and our coordinator Francine covered hygiene, opening hours, fees and uniforms, and a parents’ council was elected.
On 6 January 2022 the kindergarten started the new year with 105 children in three age groups.
A new building
In September 2022 we were given notice on the rooms. As there were no suitable premises in Kirinda, we built a new kindergarten – you can read more about it in the project “Building the new kindergarten”.
