From analogue to digital: library and computer science
A library for the primary school and the 9 Years Basic School, and donated laptops for the new computer science class at I.P.K.
Library
In 2013 we set up a library with a large number of books for the primary school and the 9 Years Basic School. It is becoming more and more popular. We are now recruiting young people who have finished school as new staff – a former I.P.K. pupil, for example, works in the new library.
Many new books have been added, and they have all been catalogued. During the December holidays, the I.P.K. librarian was able to attend a training course at the Rwanda Library in Kigali. He has passed on what he learnt to his colleague in the new library.
Computer science
For the computer science class newly set up at I.P.K. in 2014, the company SAG and several other companies donated laptops. The pupils in the class use them in their lessons, and in the evenings they are available to all other pupils for research.
